KIKO Torres Velasco: USC Doctor of Musical Arts Recital
Kiko Torres Velasco will be having his first Doctoral Recital the last Saturday of August, playing some of his favorite repertoire. I am excited to share this program with you all, so please come and enjoy. No tickets or RSVP necessary!

PianoSpheres - Vicki Ray's "The Rilke Project"
In “The Rilke Project,” pianist Vicki Ray recites poetry by
Rainer Maria Rilke which has deeply influenced her work
over the years. The poems will be paired with new and
recent repertoire for piano, piano and voice, piano and
percussion and piano and electronics. World premieres
by David Rhodes, Steuart Liebig and Joseph Pereira will
be performed as well as repertoire by Peter Eötvös,
Charles Ives, Katherine Balch and others. The evening
features special guests Elissa Johnston and Joseph Pereira.
MADWOMen
For centuries, artists have used women’s anger as a trope. From ancient theatre to opera, men have written madwomen scenes that equate anger, sadness, and bewilderment with hysteria or insanity. This performance will reclaim that madness! “Madwomen” will include theatrical scenes and live. historically-informed music on period instruments.
